Nowadays, there are many objects that are Internet connected. They include far too many things to mention here, as everything is becoming a candidate - Gaming systems, toys, smartwatches, Jewellery, Wearables electronics, household appliances, and inevitably, Internet Connected Autonomous and semi Autonomous Vehicles

According to Gartner, Inc., 4.9 billion connected things will be in use in 2015, from 3.5 billion in 2014, reaching 25 billion by 2020.

Automotive companies are now implementing the IoT wherever possible. BMW is one of the first car manufacturers to connect the IoT to their cars. One example is a new Remote Control Parking function on their 7 series, to help with parking in narrow garages or other tight spots. A driver can leave the car before entering the garage, and then park it remotely by using functions on the ignition key. This reflects the huge changes that will be happening within the the automotive/Driverless industry, as IoT is implemented into many new cars.
