NVIDIA are a US based technology company, with a turnover in excess of 7Billion USD. The company design and manufacture graphics processing units, known as GPUs. These are also available as SOC or a system on chip package, for the mobile computing and automotive market.
Nvidia invented the GPU in 1999 and from this was born the huge growth of the PC gaming market, followed by modern computer graphics, and superfast parallel computing. Today, the GPU is thought of as the brain that powers Artificial Intelligence for computers, robots and Driverless / Autonomous vehicles, enabling them to perceive and understand the world.
Recently, NVIDIA have been selected to work with Volvo Cars and also Tier one Manufacturer, Autoliv, to further develop their Self driving car technology.
